MRI question
#11
There's a old doctor in West Virginia that lives just over the border from me.

I asked him to briefly explain MRIs to me, and he obliged.

Pointing both his index fingers to his face just under his non-magnetic metal framed eyeglasses, he said "MRIs".

Another possible explanation: maybe the metal fragments got in there after the MRI

If the fragments are IN your hand, then they're not magnetic. Sometimes metal flakes ON the skin may be misread as being subcutaneous. Could always ask for a copy of the film and have a look.

The lateral view of the hand would show if it's surface or within the hand. Have you seen the x-ray? How deep was the fragment?
