and yeah, they've whittled away at the glut that was suppressing prices and raw materials prices have inched back up relatively.

Price took a jump this week with regular in the $2.56 range now. I use midgrade in my MINI and I sure miss the10¢ per grade increase in days of yore.

Here in Michigan it was $2.37 on Saturday and $2.65 today. Here's an mLive article explaining why: Gas prices in Michigan could soon rise to $3, analyst says | MLive.com

I buy gas so infrequently now, I had to go check to see what the price was.

Yeah, I drove 400 miles and used 1.5 gallons, most of that was a longer trip. I still have about 8 gallons of gas in the tank. I need to ask wife what she paid for the other car.

The pre-Harvey wholesale traded price of gasoline was around a $1.57, then within days after Harvey it shot
up to $2.14 and one month later it was back down to $1.55 and today it's up to $1.79. Our local price
shot up to $2.59 right after Harvey. It made it back down to $2.19 but today it's back up to $2.29-$2.35.

Fortunately, they're doing a massive amount of paving. Last winters rains wreck so many streets. Everybody's devil street is Masonic. It's been like an off-road track for years. It's nearing completion (tears). Fulton Street in the Richmond. Hallelujah. Van Ness should be done soon. 880 in the East Bay is being repaved at night. Not perfect but better.

Now Chicago. Jeeze.

$2.449 regular, $2.719 Diesel. It bumped up about 25¢ in the last week. I filled the VW Passat Diesel last week for the first time since last August (or was it July?). With discounts it was $1.759/gal.

KWh has been the same price for the last few years for our Volt which will need a fill up of gas again in the middle of December when we are going to take a long trip. The ICE does run a bit now because the morning temps are below 25°F. I think we use about a half gallon or so a week during the cold season.
