As an adult, do you dress up for Halloween?
#11
I love to, if I can find a venue. My dad has a party most years, and I'll dress up for that, and work. We get no kids at our house Sad

I've won several costume contests... I have some really nice ones that I've made. One was a made up monster with a flashing/pulsating visible circulatory system, wings, organs that did different things, and an eye theme. I got $500 for that at an indoor mini golf place's party. FUN.

We normally have a kayaking costume party and contest, which I've often won. One year I made an ear of corn costume, once I did Waterfire (flaming on-water braziers... I was sort of a head to toe campfire but my boat looked like water). I normally incorporate my boat, which is why the ear of corn.... my boat now is yellow and green. Oh, last year was Audrey II which was a literal boatload of fun. I wore that on the water, at work, AND to my father's party.

If I have to work on Halloween I have a pair of bright orange fox ears that I wear. If I work this year, I may add a little face makeup. Smile

Absolutely!

I usually do a food theme, but running thin on ideas after all these years. I still have to function at work with it. This year I'm going to be Mike, the "My Pillow" guy. Already have the correct shirt/pants combo, just need a fake mustache, dark hair wig and a cross around my neck, and of course, a pillow.

I'm dying to go to an adult party with my wife as Sonny and Cher. Me as Cher, as I'm taller, I'll dress up for that! My wife, "Sonny" just needs the clothing adjustment and a mustache. Her hair style could easily be combed as Sonny's.

Last year I went to a sci-fi fi party as Arthur Dent.

This year I'm going to a "Come as your worst nightmare" party. Obviously this will involve the last presidential election.

Recently I have been in the group that goes costumed as a "Responsible Adult." I don't answer the door any more because I wasn't getting enough kiddies to make it worth the effort to show they were welcome.

Only if I'm going to a party. It's been a couple of years since someone in the neighborhood had a party.

Depends on the school's directive.. If students are allowed then I might every couple years. I have a simple costume though, just a butcher's coat with the right sleeve severed and bloody. I carry the severed limb on a foam tray, wrapped like supermarket meat.

You should definitely substitute teach in a different school on Halloween where the students don't know you.
