I *adore* my wireless MS IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0.
I also use a wireless MS keyboard that I am very happy with.

Does it bother your sensibilities to use other than apple mouse?

Kensington since the beginning of time. My Apple mouse is an emergency b.u.
but I still gotta get rid of this Apple KB.

MS Intellimouse, one for each Mac for me & Mrs Z. @work and home. Great mouse & buttons galore!

I have a wireless logitech MX700. I need at least a five button mouse. I've used them since '98 or so. The thumb buttons are invaluable. I'd use more if they had them.
Personally I prefer the MS mice to logitech, but the MS wireless mice don't work with my USB KVM.

For wired work, I use Kensington trackballs.
For wireless, I use a Logitech trackball. Not a great product, but for the particular situation, the best available. It has excellent battery life. The Kensington wireless trackball is supposed to be hard on batteries, or I'd be using it. I *will* get a BT MightyMouse and keyboard with my next Mac. The mouse will be used with my 'Books. Does anybody know which iMac started shipping with Mighty Mice?

Ah, Mactracker seems to clear up my last question.
The MM first shipped in August of '05, and my ALS iMac started shipping in May of that year. It won't have an MM. Rats. To be clear, if I were a Mouse Man, I'd be using the Apple stuff some if not most of the time, particularly starting with the MM. But the trackballs have always had more buttons, and Kensington software is the best and most versatile. So I'll stick with my 'Balls.

[quote ka jowct]I use a Contour Perfit scrolling mouse, which costs quite a bit more than any Apple mouse.
This is the best mouse I've used and worth every penny. My carpal tunnels thank me for it. Me too! I've used one ever since I first saw it at a MacWorld Expo in Boston. It was new then, ADB, and called 'Contour Mouse'. /Mr Lynn

It eats batteries like mad, however. The stock batteries wouldn't last a day. I put some powermax 1700mAh's in and they go a day and a half. My MS wireless mouse goes MUCH longer. It sees less use, but I haven't changed the batteries in well over a year. |
