Australian Shepard mix, that would be great! We have almost 40 cows here on the farm maybe we can train him to bring them in.

Or, the other part of his heritage may be dominant, and he will be stealing all your beer....

[quote decocritter]Cute!!!! Does look like an Australian Shepard mix. His spots look like a bird dog /Catahoula.
How old is he? He's about 2 months old.

Thank you, vicrock! I had the "shepherd" part, because I remember my friend's dogs were always trying to herd her four kids. Sometimes that was helpful and sometimes not.

Congrats, he is cute!
Roomie has 2 aussies, they take turns herding each other around the yard. A friend kidded that we need to get them a few sheep to keep them entertained.

What a cute baby. If he really is an Austrailian Shepherd, I don't think you will have to train him to herd those cows, he will just do it.
He may also be part Blue Heeler, another Australian Cattle dog. ![]() ![]() Whippet, Whippet Good

rgG, I was thinking more Blue Heeler. We have an Australian Shepherd mix & while I do see a few similarities, I'd be more inclined to say more heeler than shepherd. When she was a puppy, she was just this little fuzzball.
Congrats Grateful! I definitely agree that he's a cutie - nothing ugly about him at all!

If the pup is under three months, the blue eyes might change color... but he does look a lot like an Aussie shepherd.
