We're subsidizing the skyrocketing gun murder rate with our tax dollars

Wow, 7 accidents. Good thing cars are totally safe, and scuba diving.

And on and on and on

1. Those seven were only the FIRST I came across. Are you claiming that there have been ONLY seven?

2. As has been pointed out so many times, on this forum alone, cars, knives, airplanes, and yes, “scuba” gear do NOT exist, are not designed, for the purpose of causing death and bodily harm. THAT essential difference should be obvious to even the shallowest thinker.

Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year, or 6,849 every day. Most often, the gun is never fired, and no blood (including the criminal’s) is shed. Every year, 400,000 life-threatening violent crimes are prevented using firearms.

“The Foundation for Economic Education (or FEE) is the one of the oldest libertarian think tanks in the United States. It was founded in 1946 by an American economist influenced by the Austrian school, Henry Hazlitt, Leonard Read of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, and David Goodrich of B.F. Goodrich. John Birch Society founder Robert Welch was also a member of its board of trustees. Leonard Read headed FEE until his 1983 death.”

“Fee has connections to the Koch Brothers.”

“FEE is an associate member of the State Policy Network (SPN).”

With all the criminals killing people and so many police departments defunding, law abiding citizens have to consider protecting themselves.

What towns or cities no longer pay for public safety and protection?

I have no problem with law abiding people safely and responsibly owning guns.

The problem is, many states have no interest in that, it's a grab- a-gun free for all.

We are the only rich nation with this gun violence problem.

Portland has gone from 1400 down to under 900 officers, NYC has cut over $1 billion from the police budget for example. In both cities violent crime has sky rocketed. In Seattle, 911 response time has gone from 7 minutes to 17 minutes. Again, crime is way up.

There are statistics and there are other contravening statistics - in which which statistical lane do you choose to drive?

"The FBI’s Preliminary Uniform Crime Report, January–June, 2020, reveals overall declines in the number of violent crimes and property crimes reported for the first six months of 2020 when compared with figures for the first six months of 2019. The report is based on information from 12,206 law enforcement agencies that submitted three to six months of comparable data for both years to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program."

"Each year when Crime in the United States is published, some entities use reported figures to compile rankings of cities and counties. These rough rankings provide no insight into the numerous variables that mold crime in a particular town, city, county, state, or region. Consequently, they lead to simplistic and/or incomplete analyses that often create misleading perceptions adversely affecting communities and their residents. Valid assessments are possible only with careful study and analysis of the range of unique conditions affecting each local law enforcement jurisdiction. The data user is, therefore, cautioned against comparing statistical data of individual reporting units from cities, metropolitan areas, states, or colleges or universities solely on the basis of their population coverage or student enrollment."

Yes, republican states have lower crime and have offset the massive increase in crime in key liberal cities such as NYC, Portland, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco etc.

World population review; crime and homicide rate by state, 2021:

Seriously, do you even check these things before you make these kind of broad (and counter-factual) assertions?

Must be all those key liberal cities in Alaska, Alabama and Mississippi that are to blame for gun deaths.
