What happens to some stolen cameras in San Francisco

My homeowners insurance covers theft of all kinds. They can take whatever they want as long as nobody gets hurt.

....hear that crime has gotten really bad in San Fran......people are literally walking into drug stores.....putting stuff in their bags and just walking out.....there is footage of security guards just letting them walk out and doing nothing....

Note that a weapon doesn't have to be a gun or knife. It is any object used to injure or destroy. As far as I can tell, in California only criminals have the right to use weapons (said with a bit of sarcasm).

An increase in petty crime has a huge impact on an area. People avoid it and spend less time and money there. With all the crap going on in Philadelphia, none of my friends go to Philly unless they absolutely have to. And they leave as quickly as possible. None of them ride public transit due to the violence on the trains. These were the people who went to the city regularly and spent decent money there. Now they're spending it in the suburbs.

Unfortunately, you often don't know if anybody is going to get hurt until you've handed over your valuables, and the perp decides whether or not he wants any witnesses.
You have to make the decision well ahead of time whether you're going to wait for that decision to be made (assuming the perp doesn't go into that situation having already decided your fate), or if you're going to take proactive action the moment your life is threatened.

I'm not saying which choice you should make - just that the time to think about those choices is not when the armed thug is telling you to hand it over, it's well ahead of that.

Don't carry a weapon at all if you haven't determined clearly in your mind what, TO YOU, constitutes an "imminent threat to your life or threat of serious bodily injury".


And yes, the SFPD are fecking useless. They haven't cared about property crimes of any kind for decades, and, thanks to that mentality, are reaping what they've sown.

The guards aren't there for the security of the store... they're there to make sure no employees try and stop the thieves, thereby breaking company policy /sarcasm.

Cops don’t care unless the stuff turns up in a big haul.
It's not simply a case of the police not caring or "doing their job".
Cops in many cities know that local prosecutors will not take
the cases.

With all the crap going on in Philadelphia, none of my friends go to
Philly unless they absolutely have to.

Places like Philly & Baltimore the local cops are now
giving their info to the Feds on drug, gun, & car jacking because the local
'progressive' DAs are refusing to prosecute.
