Wires Anonymous: I admit, I like wired keyboards
#11
Free,

Absolutely. I have an old Apple Keyboard and mouse in storage just for that kind of situation. The last times I used them were when friends who'd switch to bluetooth devices had issues.

I like wireless keyboards. And big butts.

Not really.

I have wired keyboards. I have KVMs so wired keyboards work better. I usually have a wired mouse on the KVM, but I use wireless Contour Design mice for most of what I do. The mouse software doesn't work with the KVM, AFAIK.

Absolutely prefer wired. If Apple had a wired trackpad I'd be using it now....

I'm the weirdo that prefers the keyboard and trackpad on my MacBook Air M2.

Or whichever Mac laptop I have in front of me. I'll plug into an external monitor, maybe even use a dock with a keyboard, but I've become pretty bad at using a mouse since I've been using a trackpad on an Apple laptop daily for 25 years.

My point, however, is that both the keyboard and trackpad are wired.

Why not just plug in a lightning cable and make that Apple trackpad wired?

exactly? Mine is plugged in... or at least its plugged in unless I need the cable... then I unplug for a short time, plug back in.

My keyboard and Magic TrackPad are on my lap, not a desk, so cables are plugged in only until each are charged, then they're stowed.

Both my BT and wired keyboards are illuminated, and that drains the battery in about a week in the BT keyboard.

I think it has a light sensor to reduce backlighting if ambient light is high.

But I'm something of a night owl so the backlight gets a lot of use.

Both devices get turn off at the end of my 'day' so that helps.

I did use the older trackpads with 2xAAs, but as the cells aged, duty cycles became shorter, so I switched to the Magic Trackpad.

Not wired. More like a cable.
