Mac Genius living out of his truck by choice.

The homeless shelter is more dangerous than living in a truck. Well, at least in Los Angeles.

I guess nothing is safe in LA but in smaller towns like Napa they are fairly civil. Never been there but had friends who did. I could imagine the City of Angels is tough.

Whoa, didn't know he was that "famous" Smile That shows a lack of responsibility if you run up a CC with 10k debt from partying. Maybe all he can handle is a truck. I wouldn't want him for a roomie.

Total BS Kap.
LA Homeless shelters are very safe, problem is that you have to give up your drugging, drinking, and bad behavior.
You have to bathe, be in on time, keep your area neat and clean, you have to do your assigned chores.
A very good friend runs "Loaves and Fishes" in LA, no problems, it isn't dangerous, most folks are on the street because of two things, laziness, and mental illness, there was a president in the 1980's that threw a ton of folks out of the mental hospitals. It is much easier and cheaper to "Self Medicate", then to get proper medication.

I hear you BGnR. There were a few outpatient clinics that were shut down within a few blocks of the college I went to at that time. The street people boomed immediately, especially the mentally ill ones. I was taking a few abnormal psych classes then and spotted a lot of them who could be helped easily.

>> "Even though I had a good job, I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck and not making any headway with my credit cards," <<

hello, the real world is calling and wants you to rejoin it

been in college 10 years and wants to go to grad school? in my day we called that a "professional student"

he goes to school in fullerton (not close to LA), also nowhere near aliso viejo, which is super expensive, hence $1600 rent

hes gotta 30 minute commute if hes sleeping in aliso

sigh, words fail me

There are tons of cheap houses everywhere. He can move there, own a home, get a low-pay job and still be able to make ends meet.

Mortgage payment about $50 ! ......

He might be in better financial shape if he got rid of his truck and stopped feeding the gas pump== what irony.
