Have you considered a mini-split?
Well, I got my dead 8,000 BTU down the stairs and ready for the alley without dying.

Yes, although this 6k is so compact it's hard to believe it's really 6k. I do keep them in the attic in the wintertime normally. The new unit arrived early evening. I like it. A little cooler and rainy here tonight so not yet able to judge whether it can keep up.

Black, I can vouch for LG air conditioners. We had 10K or 12K in our living room of my 3rd floor apartment until my 4th floor neighbor's AC unit fell out of their window and hit and broke ours on the way to the grass and pavement. It worked amazingly well and was _very_ quiet. We have an 8K LG in my office and it works just as well and is very quiet, too. Not quite as quiet as the Midea U-Shaped model in Little M's bedroom but still very quiet. The LG that had been in the living room was replaced with an Friderich. I'd've gone LG again but the store that also offered installation services didn't have them. Midea U-Shaped models didn't exist at the time. So, the Friderich was our next best choice. All things considered equal, if I need to replace an AC, I'd go for a Midea U-Shaped because it's exceptionally quiet and offers great performance. However, if one isn't available, I'd take a model from LG without any hesitation at all. LG makes great air conditioners! Robert |
