[quote bfd]Means little if they don't win the next 4.
But congratulations for now … (the NY Giants almost beat them? ? ? ? ?)
Everyone brings their 'A' game when the Pats are in town. That they would come from behind was almost never in doubt. The Giants defense spent way too much time on the field (20 out of 30 minutes in the first half) and it showed at the end.

That would be THREE more games - they get a first round bye. And, two of those games will be in Foxboro (if they keep winning).
Now I turn my sights to Ohio State - GO BUCKS!!!

Me too. My latest 12-year old basketball team is called the Buckeyes. I've been given to believe a Buckeye is some sort of stinky tree.
The kids love that definition and now use it as a defense against nightly showers or any other sort of personal hygiene regimen.

Ugh! Can't stand the Patriots. I have a hard time congratulating cheaters.
And the way the media is portraying them as heroes!?!? For overcoming adversity that they created by cheating and getting caught doing so?!?! WTF?!?
What has become of us as people when we openly worship confirmed cheaters?

Save the histrionics about sporting transgressions and spend your pent-up outrage on Washington. They play spectator sports there that can get your kid killed.

This thread is about the Patriots.
However, the fact that we tolerate cheating in sports shouldn't be surprising considering what we let our government get away with, but it still sucks.
I don't like cheaters.

Roger, the Patriots were caught cheating. The league didn't find the level of that cheating to be low enough to make them forfeit the game, however. No sense yelling at Dharma for bringing up that point, and your attempt at diversion was very neocon.

OK
That wuz week one.
'splain to me what that has to do with week 16.
...and I stand by my assertion that if you'd get as pissed off at the jerks in Washington who are wasting lives as you do over a football game that means nothing, we'd be a better country.

Who says I am not? Who says Dharma's not? But we were talking about the Patriots, not the Politicos.
I think spying on the other sideline is smart, actually, every bit as smart as putting someone in center field who can steal signs. But they are both against the rules. Best not to get caught.

I was taught that playing centerfield or second base MEANT looking for signs from the catcher, why is that wrong?
I don't want to object to what the league decided was unfair and what the Pats were doing was obviously wrong under those rules
I would suggest that it had little to do with the success of the team overall.
I saw my first Pats game at a place called Nickerson Field at Boston University. It was actually an old ballpark where the Boston Braves played before fleeing to Milwaukee. They played the Dallas Texans in snow and I dragged my soon to be wife with me.
We later watched them play in Fenway Park (imagine that - today you can't book a bar mitzvah at Fenway unless you know someone).
It's a lousy football field anyway.
