I tend to vote Republican, but if there's a pro-life Democrat on the ticket, I strongly consider voting for him or her. I voted for Casey over Santorum in the last Senate election here in PA.
...excuse me, there's someone at the +++NO CARRIER+++

Ditto above - registered independent. Have voted for both parties and the occasional third party candidate.

I vote straight gangsta.

i'm registered independent but often vote straight dem if i'm unfamiliar with the smaller races. but living in nyc i feel like there are more dems that i'd vote against than i'd vote for.
frequently districts that are staunch single party often fuel the worst that party has to offer.

Have never voted a single party ticket.
Here in WA you don't register by party - and we now have "top 2" primaries.

We didn't get to vote on the candidates for four county offices in the primary, so, in the general election, we have up to six candidates running for the same office, and we have to chose three, in order of preference. It wasn't hard to understand the instructions and vote, but we wound up with a couple of people who would have faded back into oblivion if there had been a chance to weed them out in a primary. I so enjoyed reading the profile of the guy running for sheriff who was born in "The Republic of Texas." His qualification for office is one training course in "Sexual Assault Awareness." Sheesh.

I too would have to join Gutenberg's party. In forms that have a field for political beliefs, I usually enter "Raging Pragmatist". I am registered as an independent / decline to state.
I'd say I vote for the Democratic candidate about 80% of the time. I've voted for independent candidates in the past, but the only Republican I can recall voting for was Arnold in the last gubernatorial election against the completely useless Phil Angelides. I have often voted against the Democratically-endorsed measures that litter my state and local ballots, though: I don't rubber stamp every bond measure they try to get passed, that's for sure.
