Well, in any event, I think the american voters have a right to know the full extent of the relationship between Obama and his dear aunt, the illegal mooch.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.
Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in the Democratic presidential candidate's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case.

According to Federal Election Commission documents filed by the Obama campaign, Onyango has contributed $260 to Obama over a period of time. Under federal election law, only U.S. citizens or green-card holders are legally permitted to give money to campaigns. Onyango, who listed her employer as the Boston Housing Authority, gave in small increments to the Obama campaign. Her latest contribution was $5 on Sept. 19.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said Saturday that he had no idea how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order. He said he's not involved in the operations of the agency, even though he appoints the head, because it runs mainly on federal and state dollars.
William McGonagle, deputy director of the Boston Housing Authority, said when contacted: "I know nothing about it and I've got no comment."

I think Obama must know a little bit about her and where she might be living, since he wrote about her. Would not have his handlers researched this kind of stuff before he ran for President.

This is not to say he is responsible for her. I find it more interesting that she has Public Housing as an illegal and one that was supposed to be deported. Wonder why she would not be eligible for Asylum.

The Guberment at work, again. Boy they do a great job, so lets give them more power.

[quote=PeterB]... seems kind of far fetched to me to hold him responsible for this ...

but PeterB, you are a reasonable person!

i can see this being played in whispers: see, he's not really one of us. he's sneaking his family in. they don't obey our laws. he'll let the others in, too...

I think the concern is he has abandoned his relatives, the half brother in Kenya, his aunt living in the projects and a long lost uncle someone living in poverty. He played up the "family" thing so much in his book and in real like doesn't live up to his words.

He wants us to "share the wealth" with everyone yet he is wealthy and doesn't help his own relatives.

I don't know about others but I am not helping all of my relatives. I am far from wealthy. And even if I am why should I help the ungrateful backstabbing moochers? Hell, no! I'd rather donate my hard earned money to the animal shelters. Those animals are loyal and grateful like no humans.

Half-brother in Kenya says he is doing just fine. Aunt is trying to stay under the radar and continue living in the US. Never heard of uncle Someone.

You really don't get it. Allowing people like YOU to keep more of YOUR money isn't a bad thing. If it is, then you can give it away. Going to give it to your poorer relations? Do you even know if the distant ones need help or want help?

I have family I have not seen in years. Am I not a family person because I don't keep up with all of them?

This is horsecrap Suzanne. You don't like the guy period. So why play into this stupid stuff. Surely you have real disagreements relative to different economic theories instead of useless accusations of someone not living up to their words or finger pointing. You know darn well that many people don't help out their poorer relations, especially distant ones for a variety of reasons. And if you think Obama went into this campaign knowing he had an aunt that was denied asylum but was living in public housing you really are nuts.

I have a gagillion relatives that I don't even know the NAMES of, aside from knowing what they are up to, or if they have commuted crimes, or smoked some weed. I'm certainly not sending them money or supporting their lifestyle. I come from a nice quiet Iowa family for cripes sake - but I don't keep tabs on all of them!
