Pull start or key start, sooner or later there will be problems. Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Honda, all them them.

My 12 year old wouldn't be able to use a pull-start so a key start was the obvious choice. With the safety 'features' that shut it off every time he lets go of the handle the key start was a must.
