Animals eat all kinds of people food. My cat Izzy likes olives and pizza crust especially, and the occasional shred of romaine lettuce with vinaigrette. I attribute it to her once being a street cat. She had to survive on anything she could find, and there was a pizza joint across the street from the churchyard where we found her.

Lot's of dogs are allergic to corn. Especially euro breeds. My Mother and Aunt are both breeders and both warned me about corn with my Border Terrier. I avoid corn in her food. She got a hold of a corn muffin I dropped one day and threw up for two days. Fritos give her really bad gas.

Corn/corn meal is just cheap filler, you're paying for something your dog can't even digest, and it makes for bigger piles in the yard.
Higher quality foods, that have corn gluten meal in them, instead of plain old corn meal, are much better.
I like Nutro Max here for our animals.

The California Natural brand was less expensive than others. I am not certain if the pet store owner was trying to clear his inventory. He could have sold me the Science Diet for more profit. In any event, my terrier mutt ate it because there was no other choice. He survived. I am now more aware of the ingredients that go into making dog food just because we adore our mutt AND the vet's bill will cost a hell lot more.
Baby Tats,
My friends fed their Dalmation everything off their plates, and drinking cups which include coffee and beer!
Guttenberg,
My aunt's husband has recently adopted a tray calico cat. She's an outdoorsy type so she's been hunting wild rabbits for protein to suppliment her boring man-made cat food.
