I have a theory about Shakeman...

Unlike the Arkham razor, which is only useful on throats, but does exude a lovely green dye.

Instead of worrying about who "shakeman" is, the better question is why this side is practically in coma. Is there nothing going on in the country? I am getting tired of starting threads.

In that case, just look at my post as an attempt to un-coma this joint. I have taken a small amount of the burden of posting off of you.

Then you should take a long, long rest.

I would like to give credit where it is due. The SM alter-ego is very entertaining.

I must conclude from the creativity evidenced in the SM alter-ego posts and the lack of said creativity in this thread that the real SM poster has not yet weighed in here. The posters in this thread are so: predictable, boring, entrenched.

Another forum whose members come hear to sling insults when things get too slow there has failed to attract and retain new members due to its nastiness and is now (not surprisingly) dying of attrition.
With no other way to kill time, regulars from that forum are using this one to fill up their empty existence. And not surprisingly this forum is dying of nastiness as well.
Normal, healthy people just don't choose to wallow in hostility in their free time.
The worst part is that it's not possible to appeal to these folks to reign in their hostility since they've been immersed in it day-in, day-out on this other forum for 3+ years and they don't seem to even have an awareness of how ugly it is at this point.

I am starting believe that Shakeman is actually an alter-ego of one, or more, of the entrenched personalities who post here regularly.

As I look at the supposed Shakeman posts, I realize that SM is really a tool that allows the forum "name callers" to vocalize their opinions in a very negative and bullying way.

Is Shakeman a Strawman created by regular posters here as a tool to allow them to exercise their "if you're not with me, you're against me" attitude?

"He" certainly draws abundant ridicule and "he" certainly espouses ideas worthy of ridicule.

Is this really a coincidence or has a forum member, or members, created him to allow entrenched here to use the term moron?

Just curious-- when did you come to the macresource forum and how did you find it?
I'm not in the camp that thinks new folks should be burned at the stake (hi davester) but I would like to gauge how much of the Shakeman show you've seen before responding.

Try answering some of the many questions that have been addressed to you. That should keep you busy.

I don't think that at all. However, I do think that when a new person shows up at the local watering hole that they should not start bitching about how they don't like the way the regulars act and demanding new rules of etiquette for the institution. Such people tend to be shunned or shown the door. I'm sure there are plenty of other venues that fit the newcomer's sensitivities.

Well said, Number Six.
