Star Trek XI, greenlighted according to KTLA morning news.

My favorite star trek movie was galaxy quest. All of the other star trek movies just suck in retrospect.

Galaxy Quest was indeed a great TREK movie. Many argued that it shoulda been TREK VI as a farewell to the original crew.

I so looked forward to Nemesis, but it was just horrible. I would love to see another with the TNG crew and have them end on a better note.

Had Galaxy Quest been made using the actual Star Trek TOS actors, and the Enterprise (ST:TMP, STII, STIII era)..
It would have singlehandedly out-grossed the rest of the Star Trek franchise combined.

But then, I was one of the few that really enjoyed Star Trek: Enterprise, after it's slow start, and was sad to see it go.
It was just hitting it's stride when it was cancelled.

Paul, as many here know, I was a HUGE fan of Enterprise. Although I really liked the fourth season, I still thought the earlier seasons had merit... and most would agree that it really improved in the fourth season. Shouldn't have been cancelled, IMHO. If you watch any of the other series early seasons, you find that they're generally much worse than the later seasons... in particular, watch any of Season 1 of TNG, and you just want to gag...

Star Trek has always been great when the writing/directing has been there. When Enterprise finally starting to come together - it was too late, the fan base had already beamed away.

And as much as I had looked forward to the STNG movies - the last one was a major waste.

As a kid I grew up watching reruns of the classic. Liked STNG series when it came out. Really didn't get into Voyager originally - but enjoyed it, especially after season 2, on DVD - that said - Janeway never ceased to annoy imho. DS9 was not quite my cup of tea, but enjoyed most of it through season 6 - I don't think I've seen one S7 episode. The Classic Star Trek movies, enjoyed - but ST V probably could have done without - STII remains one of my favorites with STVI up there too. Generations - ok - First Contact great - the rest... the stories just didn't fit imho.

I don't consider myself a trekker so to speak, but do enjoy all of Star Trek.. and will admit that I be looking forward to seeing if they can bring back the original spirit with this next edition.

At the same time - BSG rocks. Dr. Who is ok. And Star Gate even still ok, if a tad tired.

With a name like Other World Computing - gotta know there's some Sci-Fi in us. Smile

Hope Odd is the new Even.

For the first 9 movies the Even numbered ones were good and the odd ones not so good.

II, IV, VI, VIII are pretty good movies.

But I think X (Nemesis) was the worst of them all.

If Berman & Braga have anything to do with this it will be a total waste.

Will it be like When Harry Met Sally?

In case you haven't seen it (strong language warning!): http://www.stardestroyer.net/Nemesis/Pictorial-1.html

Tidbit re/NEMESIS: In the deleted scene (which should have ended the movie) where the new First Officer comes aboard; originally, Seven of Nine was to the be new First Officer. Jeri Ryan reportedly wanted too much money for what was a simple cameo, so the unknown guy was used. I thought Seven of Nine as the new First Officer would have been a pretty neat tie-in.

(Not popular, but I do actually enjoy the first one (ST:TMP). A lot better in the Director's Cut. Enjoyable novel as well.)
