And if you right wingers were not so effing STUPID we wouldn't have to explain things that normal literate people already know.

Gosh Stevie, you need to give it a break.

My Costa Rican Coffee is great this am
Again, if someone is not familiar with the most basic of cultural references, things people ought to know by sheer osmosis even if they don't remember how they know it, that is not my fault. Nor the President's. You need to wake up and smell the coffee, as it were.

Trying to turn a group of people's lack of knowledge into some kind of political controversy about the President is the lamest thing yet in what has proven to be a very lame Republican arsenal.

I fully understand the literary reference, but perhaps you can explain WHY Obama felt the need to bring up revenge?

I don't find the word revenge uplifting, positive or even appropriate when asking for people's vote. It is a harsh word and meant to incite people. I know it is used often in the Black Liberation Theology churches, but hardly has a place in politics.

So these churches, they say "Voting is the best revenge" all the time? That's very interesting. So you are saying that Obama stole their material? That it wasn't an ad lib? Would you happen to know for how long these churches have been saying "Voting is the best revenge" Is the copyright maybe over by now? Or do they plan to approach the President and ask him to stop using their slogan without attribution?

So swampy, booing your opponent, as those Obama supporters did, is fair game, but verbally "inciting" them to action by voting is bad form? The notion of "getting even" is wholly unexpected in a contest? Really?

Golly, maybe Obama should have advised them to let off a little steam instead by throwing darts at pictures of Romney. Acceptable, am I right?

The idea of all those Obama supporters running to the polls clutching their sample ballots and loaded for bear is simply terrifying.

There you go again. I am talking about the WORD revenge. And now Obama owns it politically

And most of the other people here are talking about the phrase:
"Voting is the best revenge!" and how it is based on/similar in idea to "living well is the best revenge"

Don't try moving the goalposts.
