Bias in the Press - Mark Halperin of Time

Another fine example of media bias. The snub that wasn't,

The liberal media took such joy in showing Bush being "snubbed" by world leaders at the economic conference. Jon Stewart thought it was great fun to beat up on Bush.

I'm glad to see that CNN at least acknowledged the gaff. I don't think Stewart has issued either a retraction or an apology.

Does The Daily Show pretend to be unbiased? Please. They'll go wherever the laughs are, and Bush has certainly provided thousands of those over the past eight years.

Media coverage is biased because reality is biased. Obama ran a disciplined, focused campaign that was mostly well above mud-slinging level. McCain's campaign was disorganized and covered in mud.

These gaffes are more likely to "stick" when they are plausible, as with Sarah Palin and Africa. With Bush, it was very plausible.

Bush didn't help things by looking down at his feet and looking unhappy (although I am sure being around all those furriners was depressing for him).
