This whole "the forum has a bias" thing is pretty funny.
The forum is completely neutral, it has no bias. The topics are chosen 100% by participants, there is no editorial judgement coming to bear.
There clearly are more participants who are liberal-leaning in their politics,.. all that means is that there are more liberal participants. It doesn't mean anything more or less than that.

True dat.

And the really funny part is that the same left wingnuts that came up with "the vast right wing conspiracy"....

I found a record of the contributions referred to in about 7 minutes. I recognize that it may not be prudent to link to them directly, just because any conclusions about its relevance to the administrative decisions about this forum are conjecture.

Again, cite the source.

And there have been many sources cited in this forum that fall short of conjecture.
Sorry, onto your game. Get someone else to chase their tail.

I do think it's a fair suggestion that if the owner of a forum leans one way, but the activity in the forum tends to go the other way, "resources" might appear "wasted" more quickly than if the forum aligned with the owner's views. I have no proof for this, I do not assert that it is true, I merely suggest the conclusion is logical.

Personally, I don't think it's the case. Anybody who bothers to spend time here can recognize that its relatively balanced. I think the moaning about injustice from a few is far more annoying to the owner than the actual discourse within the forum itself.

Sounds like a fair assessment.

That is kind of weird. On the one hand, I find it really hard to believe it's the right leaning people who caused the demise of the the friendly side (especially purposely), but I don't feel any need to be nasty about it.

I can understand how the conflict looks bad to visitors. But I really think conflict is something that happens between people who know each other. There is going to be conflict if there are meaningful exchanges. At any rate, the interactions I've had with people here have often been "real", and I'm thankful for that. It doesn't matter to me whether that looks good to visitors. If real isn't good for business, I guess that's how it goes. kj.

That's a really good point. Well said.

I just found this thread late last night. Are we talking about the possibility of the entire forum being shutdown
or just the political side? I would really hate to see this forum shutdown. So much has happened in my life
since coming here in 2005 and this place has been immensely helpful in getting me through my challenges.
If shutting down is meant to be then it will probably happen but I hope not.

I think there was consideration of shutting down this political side but not the tips side. I think there was some consideration of breaking that side up into more forums (fora), but that seems to have been set aside. Last word I saw was that they decided to not make any changes - including not shutting down this political side.
