Is there a way to buy an iPhone app and send it to someone?
#1
First let me say that I don't have an iPhone and probably never will if it means switching to AT&T.

I am now using a Palm Centro on Sprint and our plan for two phones with data and more minutes than we ever use runs around $70/mo.

We have a relative that has an iPhone and I'd like to send her an app that I saw mentioned in the current Wired magazine.

Is there a simple way to send it to her as a surprise for her birthday?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Don't think so.

It's like buying someone an iTunes song and sending the file to them: the ownership is still tied to whomever purchased it. I'd be surprised if it synced up to their iPhone.

Looks like all you can do is get her an iTunes gift card, then she can buy the app.

I know, kinda ruins the surprise...

The view expressed above is not necessarily the view of GeneL. It is also, not necessarily NOT the view of GeneL.

BTW, thanks for posting your suggestions. As Jeff said, “…kinda ruins the surprise...”

Stay positive. A gift card is still a surprise. And if she doesn't already know about buying apps and syncing them to the phone, she will, and be able to do it herself next time. Now THAT's a gift.

Hmm…

I don't know. I've kinda lost interest when it got too complicated. I'll do something else, but thanks for the suggestion.Smile
