After a deal gone south (scammer), I posted feedback on the LEM swap list feedback google group. Today I get an email (from a gmail address) which I suspect is from the scammer posing as an associate of said scammer. I've maintained all along that this is one person that I'm dealing with, but there's no way to be sure. Anyway, I get this email today as a response to my negative feedback on the LEM swap list feedback google group (name redacted):
"See stupid son a bitch. You mother IS A CRAP....And YOU ALSO
XXXXX is dead for your actions. Dont make me go to USA and KILL YOU!"
I let one of the LEM list nannies know about this, and they suggest that this is a criminal threat and that I should report it to law enforcement.
Thoughts?

The slightly awkward english and his threat to come here makes him sound like one of those 'nigerian scammers' making a shallow threat. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's probably BS but, once a threat to kill you has been made, I'd err on the side of caution and make a report to my local law enforcement agency. If you're lucky, you might be able to do it over the phone. If that's not possible, I'd say go to the local precinct / office with a printout, including long headers. Let them know right up front that you simply want the threat documented. Be ready to provide any information on what you've already done (notified ISP, Google etc. Include people you've spoke with). Then, for the next month or so, pay attention to anything in your world that you know is out of place. If that little voice inside of you is talking, listen!

imo, yes, involve the needed authorities on every threat. Do it as a service to help prevent that person from doing it to someone else.
I was the victim of something recently and it was already successfully prosecuted. Nothing major, but the way I see it is NOW the guy has a criminal record, and the next time will think twice or hopefully just repent his ways, and at least he will have a prior record for the next victim to hopefully press charges and get a conviction. I had to call the prosecutor everyday to get them to do it. But I feel it was worth it. No one should get away with criminal behavior.

You'll get nowhere reporting that threat.
Trash it and move on.

Not to mention the waste of your time and energy and the waste of public resource.

Even if you get nowhere by reporting it, you still should report it. It becomes a record. Eventually the person will get caught, and this will help convict them.

Tell him you would rather make him take a lesson in proper grammar, but you doubt he has the intellect to understand it.

Report it to the police. I had a similar situation a few years back. It turned out to be a 17 year-old kid, who had to deal with the wrath of his parents after our police knocked on his door.
