Need the voice of "reason"... 2007 Mustang GT... For a "dad" with young kids?

Found a great deal on a loaded 2007 Mustang GT with just under 30,000 miles on it and a clean carfax report. Now, the wife says go for it... so does my father... however, this morning I'm feeling a little more "practical". We have a 4-1/2 year old and a 2 year old. I will most likely have a booster seat in my vehicle and if I'm going to have the two year old I'd take my wife's 2007 Grand Caravan.

Now, I had a 1999 Mustang... and a 2002 Mustang... We want something "fun"... But, with the boys being so young and living in MI (another factor is safety) thinking a Ford Fusion, VW Jetta or a Volvo S60 might be just as "fun" but more practical and do the mustang in a few years. Dad found me a nice Pontiac Grand Prix GXP with 39K miles on it with a 100K warranty that he thinks would be "just as fun" but more "practical".

Anyone have a newer style Mustang that drives it in the snow? How does it compare to the previous style mustangs?

I've got a 2.5 year old and if I could, I'd get a 2007 Mustang GT. But thats just me. I don't think that's a "voice of reason" decision.

DAMN YOU GUYS... Your not helping! haa haa. Well, the voice of reason was the "opps" from the sales guy who did a $1000 typo in his e-mail... So, instead of $18K it's $19K... That should help.

I have never been a Mustang fan. Just never liked them.
And don't try driving them in slick conditions.
What I tell guys in mid-life, at work, is this...
drive a Miata and (used of course) Porsche Boxster back to back.
Then drive anything else.
At least you'll not kid yourself once you've done that.

You had two previous Mustangs, so I'd think this one would drive like the last ones in snow. Or perhaps it's MI that's new to you since then? Winter tires would be a must. You can also buy a set of steelies and swap them out in your garage when the weather turns bad. Forget all-season tread.

With young kids, the only 2-dr I'd consider would be a convertible. Drop the top and the kids lift right over and into the back.
