I am surprised at how much the UK is involved in what I thought would be predominantly a USA form of music, eg Country/Blue Grass.

So, from that, which is slightly enjoyable, to this monstrosity and generally panned show at the Beijing Olympics closing scenes...

I tune in and listen to BBC NI (Northern Ireland) and they have their nights of nothing but the hillbilliest sounding music on some show.
It just seems out of place over there to hear it played more than here.

It was a Parliament -funded program intended to prepare the youth for the British Invasion of the US music scene. Studying/assimilating American culture, like on "V".
Shameful that a supposedly civilized empire recruited soldiers as young as 13.
