I just bought this second home condo, and haven't had time to get internet yet.
I know I need to go ahead and do it, but I'll only be here a few days a month, and MAN, somebody's Netgear router is FAST!
I wish I knew who they were, because I'd get whatever service they have.

Just do a traceroute and see what the first hop is. You should be able to figure out the service provider from that.

I think they now call hopping on any open, unprotected port as

This summer, we experienced 2 cable internet outages lasting several hours each. The only way I could check email was to "borrow" the neighbor's wifi. I didn't spend that time surfing. I just used it long enough to check email.

I remember getting in a huge argument over this with someone a few years back. I say way to go. If that signal is coming to your computer then you own it. Damn the law.

Using very sparingly, and on nothing that requires security. I'll get my own next week... promise. : )
