I'm not implying anything of the sort.
But someone might infer from my line of questioning an assumption that women don't mean it when they say things like "no gifts this year" and skipping a gift might be very hurtful to her and ruin your marriage. You're certainly free to make that inference.

Some women may be like that. In our case, an envelope with a cut up credit card and the words "paid-in-full" is better than a diamond ring. (with another payment plan to remember the ring monthly).
