Anyone know anything about Yard Signs?
#1
I'm getting 100 yard signs to advertise my son's Karate Dojo.

I've gotten two decent prices but for two different products, I'm hoping someone is familiar and can give me the pros/cons with each. The design is set and will be sized to the sign product.

First option - 12"x18" corrugated plastic signs on H-wire stands. -- This is the standard "vote
for me" type sign. 100 two-sided, one color signs will cost $247 delivered

Second Option - 18"x24" poly sleeves on U-wire stands. -- the plastic sleeved sign slips over the
wire stand (bottom can be stapled to secure). 100 two-sided, one color signs
will cost $213 delivered

The first sign is stronger, the second is larger. Either one will only be out until the road crews come through to mow (generally around once a month), they pull and dump the signs then we put new ones out.

I'm leaning to the poly sleeves but would like to hear from anyone with experience using either of these products.

You want us to help you figure out the most cost-effective way for you to violate the law and create visual pollution?

What, no flyers on telephone poles?

Cards at the laundromat?

The signs are legal in our county and may be lft out for thirty days (hence the roadcrews).

Based on the info you mention, I'd definitely lean toward the poly. In this case, bigger is better for those driving by. Of less concern is durability, since they'll be there only for a limited time. And the fact that they're a little less expensive is an added bonus.

Al that said, I have no direct experience with either.

If they're only going to last a month, I'd go with the cheapest.

You'd get a littering fine here if they were stuck on public property and there's a whole slew of charges if you stick them on private property without permission.

How many actually get 'disposed of properly' vs lost to the elements and polluting the environment like plastic garbage bags ?

Is this company in Austin TX? I've used them before. Good product.

Any reason you cannot pull them after 25 days and relocate them? Do it as an exercise.. Wax on, wax off.

I don't do it ... but I've read of others that take these signs down because they're ugly.

Yes, I realize if they're legal it's against the law (theft)... but that doesn't stop them.

Most of the theft of yard sign stories I've heard, have been politically motivated. Less because they're ugly.
