Which keyboard to get (for use with Garageband lessons)?
#1
My daughter's birthday is coming up (7) and she is showing interest in playing piano. We have a roll-up keyboard that grandma got from the Sharper Image ages ago, but I would like to get her something more substantial!

I would like something to use with my iMac and Garageband's piano lessons. Something decent - not a toy, but not pro level either.

Oh, and definitely not a full 88-key keyboard. Space is limited to about 30".

Merci d'avance!

Take a look at M-Audio's 49 key keyboard:

Only downside is that you have to use it with a computer.

If all you need is a controller, you might look at this from m-audio:

It's 39" wide but I think she would benefit from having 61 keys if you can swing the space.

The old 49e's are cheap and plug and play for Mac OSX/Garageband.

ebay search

I got one off Craigslist recently for about $40.
