Old Airport Extreme Base Station
#1
I have one I acquired years ago with a job lot of computer stuff and have never used. They seem to go for very little money on eBay so what can I do with it? Any suggestions? It's from 2003.

Weren't those the ones with an original Airport card? If so, the card (if working) is probably worth more than the whole base station.

I thought that those cards were no longer worth much?

I just did a quick eBay check. You're right. Looks like <$20.

The snow white Airport UFO base station (802.11b) had the airport cards in them.

The extremes were 802.11g in 2003 and probably had Airport Extreme mini-PCI cards in them.

Yes it has a USB port, could I use it to have a wireless printer if I wanted?

Yes.

Or a hard drive.

Or a hub, a printer, and a hard drive.

I have this model, the snow model with the g I'd guess. I use it for remote printing, it is awesome. My third AP under AC warranty coverage of my lappies.
