No mouse with minis
#1
I just realized after a bit of research that Mac minis do not ship with a mouse - am having a hard time believing that Apple ships a desktop machine without a mouse!

Since it's inception, the idea was that a PC switcher would already have a Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor.

No keyboard either.... the idea being that the Mini is aimed at switchers
who would already have a monitor/keyboard/mouse from their PC.

Ain't it hell when you realize something the vast majority has known for years? :banghead:

This is one reason why I never got a Mini as my home server. Every time I compared it to a low end MacBook, the MacBook would win.

MacBook has a Monitor, Keyboard, Track Pad, and built-in UPS, and I suspect that it uses less power than a Mini+Monitor too. For $699 after rebate, I got the FW-400 MacBook from Microcenter last year when they were closing them out.

The mini was never on my radar screen until recently, when I got one for a client who wanted to replace their eMac for as little as possible. Guess he can use the KB and mouse from the eMac...

No keyboard, mouse, or monitor. With the mini going up in price with each major revision, and the iMac similarly dropping in price, I am dubious of the value of the mini for most users.
