Ever heard this version of Van Halen's "Jump"

I heard it on the radio yesterday morning, and assumed it was a newly released song. Turns out, it came out in 1984, right around the time of Van Halen's version.

I really like it.

Sure. At the time it was widely taken as a parody/criticism.

Oh, yeah--I heard them perform it live. I prefer it to the Van Halen version--unless I'm falling asleep, and need something to wake me up.

There's always this one if you're In a Metal Mood

Now that just made me feel uncomfortable.

I quit listening to Van Halen when they became an icky keyboard synth band.

Saw them perform the real version back in the 80's in concert in Winston-Salem, this one makes me want to puke.

'Fil,

That's just plain wrong. And painful.

I thought you meant this version.

First link: interesting cover, I would say; the arrangement is not a parody. But the singer just didn't have the stuff.

Pat Boone: ugh.

Imagine a Jump: not to my taste but an interesting gimmick. The guy who did it apparently has a whole repertoire of these mashups. The mashup album covers he made are cool too.
