And it's gone just as fast! Missed it, along with thousands of others. Oh well!

Blah. I sat there and hit reload 100 times until I realized that was the wrong link. This was the correct link: http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?rand=...e97a5fd9bc&sku=214680105&loc=101&estk=1

By the time I figured it out, it was OOS. Oh well.

Crap, sorry guys. The link I provided was what the CSR gave (where you had to click on Buy.com in the other vendors section and add to cart before seeing the price). I didn't realize there was a direct link.

I had it in my cart, but didn't see the price change until it was too late. When I realized that the price had dropped and tried to complete the deal, it had vanished.

Sadness instead of joy. Sad

are deals like this ever repeated?

is this a new low price point for this product or a "once" deal?

Hard to say whether it'll be repeated, but in regard to a new low price point or a "once deal"...definitely a once deal. The low price point on a 42" 720P is gonna be $400 (I"ve seen it occur often enough during the last several weeks). I would guess for a 1080P model it'd be $500.

Man, I had my account logged in on Safari and my brother's on Firefox. Locked and loaded. Trying to figure out when the price change would be reflected. Turns out while I was chasing 'Viper'...'Jester' came up from behind and got me. :-(

Like hard drives, I think you can safely assume that prices on TV's will continue to drop.

It was only a few years ago that these things cost thousands of dollars.

If you need a new TV, just get one.
