kitchen remodel part 3
#1
Could be part 4, not sure, but here are some before and after pictures. I have just a few cabinets left to do. I couldn't have done this without the advice I got here on the forum so thank you all.

The cost was $300 for the door pulls and $40 for the wax/stain to darken the cabinets. Not sure exactly about the hours but probably at least 12 hours of work. One thing that isn't evident from the photos is that many of the cabinets had very poor quality finish in some spots, evident wear and this totally covers that. Some of the before pictures come through as having almost a redish hue in reality they we a very light honey with the suffering finish.

Did you get the pulls online?

Is step 5 replacing the flouresent light?

Looks nice.

I know that honey-hued finish. It's almost ubiquitous for homes of a certain cost and age range. We painted ours and installed knobs. Did the same for the bath cabinetry.

There are two more steps left. First is to replace the country kitchen style furniture which isn't visible in those pictures. I ordered that yesterday and it should arrive within four weeks. I went with the steve silver Luxor line which i would call semi formal. Nixe but not fancy and darker.

I've started talking to a contractor about the lighting. I'm looking at a tray ceiling with canned lights. I was going to research if the trays are always custom built or if you can buy them ready to install.

I'll post more this afternoon I'm running out the door for church.

This is where the pulls came from, http://www.myknobs.com/ava65173ri.html

Here is the new furniture that is on the way, including new barstools and a nice side cabinet. All the furniture was purchased locally, these links are just to show what we bought.

Looks good! I like the darker look of the cabinets, it seems to bring out the grain better.

I like the look of your current bar stools and chairs. Maybe because they are exactly like MY kitchen stools and chairs! (table is different, though). (tu)

Why are you replacing them? Doesn't match what you want your finished kitchen to look like?

The current table and chairs are great from a quality standpoint. The table is really fantastic as it expands with two leafs to something like 96 inches. It's huge for family events. The only reason we are changing is for style reasons. The current set is 4 years old and a relative has agreed to pay half what I paid for them.

Wow, my kitchen (also undergoing a facelift at the moment) has an almost identical layout. Only difference with mine is a cabinet above the peninsula.
