Using MBA as iPod

Will be taking a long airplane trip with my 11 in. MBA. I've downloaded some music, podcasts, etc to itunes. I know I can plug in my headset and listen, but is there a way for me to close the cover and still listen?

http://www.jinx.de/SmartSleep.html SmartSleep plus the Insomnia plug-in will let you do that. But if your plan is to put the MBA back in your bag with it running, it might run too hot/overheat in the confined space. If you're going to leave it out, it will be fine.

Keep in mind, the display doesn't eat up too too much battery. Well, it does, sort of, but I'd only expect about 9 hours tops of using your MBA as an iPod.

I've got an idea -- take an iPod, too. They don't take up much room. If the problem is cost, buy a refurb, or, mine was $30 off C'list.
