Bluetooth Car Mic/Speaker Recs
#1
In Maryland we've got a no handheld law for cell phones while driving. My wife doesn't like bluetooth devices that go in your ear, so I was looking for a bluetooth speaker/mic that will sync with her iPhone4.

Does anyone have anyone they like/dislike.

TIA.

I have a Jabra Cruiser
for my iphone 3gs

it works great
also has radio frequency capability which
i like more for phone conversations than using
the built in speaker, its also handy for
broadcasting the music on my phone.

I read enough positive reviews about this one that it prompted me to grab one. The big criteria for me was that people could hear me and I could hear them. So far, so good. The fact that it charges via solar is a bonus.

How do any of the 3 pick up?
Do you have to pick them up from your phone or just yell at them or .............?

I've been pretty impressed with the sound quality of a blueant speakerphone I got years ago. I believe their new products may include ones that you don't need to touch to answer.

Interesting. I really had no idea these things were so small and inexpensive.

How 'bout on the ear, instead of in the ear?

Maybe get her a BlueParrott Roadwarrior over the head headset... truckers, and convertible owners, swear by them; best wind/noise cancellation available. Your wife will look stunningly hot, strutting "the look", while cruising for blue crab cakes around the MD highways. :-)

Also, if she doesn't wear glasses, consider the Motorola Oasis, which actually has great sound, is easy to use, and is over/behind the ear, w/ the in/on ear bud not nearly as oppressive as most full in ear models. The over/behind ear portion makes it very comfortable to wear, but it really does not play nice w/ glasses for folks who wear them, though maybe glasses w/ thin, straight temples might be OK.

These options keep the other side of the conversation more private.

Yard,

Jabra Cruiser2. Absolutely the best I've used in my experience. My family and friends like it so much that we have at least ten of them amongst us. Costco had it on sale for $49 a couple weeks ago but I'm not sure what the going rate is now. Worth every penny! If the built in bluetooth speaker phone broke in my car and it wasn't covered under warranty, I'd get a Cruiser2 and be done with it.

Robert

P.S. The Jabra Cruiser Edgar posted about is the predecessor of the Cruiser2 I'm recommending to you. I heard the older model was good but not as good as the Cruiser2.

The blueant speakerphone is great. It clips to the sun visor and works like a charm. Great voice pickup, great sound, long battery life (lithium), and a charging system.
