If you buy an iPad I don't see how Apple can tell you what you can and cannot do with it.

I second asking Apple. A year or two ago, there was an issue with the iPad wifi signal level being higher then allowed by Israeli standards. http://www.smh.com.au/technology/technol...-sial.html Don't actually know what finally happened. But checking on what rules apply in the Southern Hemisphere seems prudent.

Brazil has some heavy customs taxes 50% on any "gifts" over $500. So this will be an expensive gift from corporate.

Somewhat related, Apple/Foxconn are building a factory in Brazil as a way around import taxes for local sales.

Good point, we have brought things in before and have paid unbelievable taxes and fees to do so.
