VMware Fusion 4.x $28 @ Amazon
#1
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005LTV8G0/

That's almost 50% off vmware's introductory promo price... http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/overview.html

I assume you can use the license key in the box to activate a downloaded 4.1 trial if you have it.

Amazon says out of stock and MacUpdate says it has v. 4.1.1. Does this mean that the version that works with Leopard and Snow Leopard client is no longer available?

Thanks. It was out of stock but I ordered anyway. I have no immediate need but it would be good to have.

newegg has it for $27 shipped and it's still in stock there - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...0dd0c0s701&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Item=N82E16832331009

and v 4.1.0 can still be downloaded from various places around the web. Google for it.

I particularly like that I can run10.6.8 in its virtual machine - giving me back Quicken (nasty program, but I use it nonetheless). And Chicktionary....

Not sure 10.7 was worth the upgrade, but I do like it.

amazon has parallels 7 for $34.99 also.

Is there a consensus as to which one is better?

VMware fusion has a special version that allows older versions of the Mac OS. That's the attraction right now over Parallels in general. I have had a better experience with VMware over the years with my windows OS installs, so I've been staying clear of Parallels myself.
