First hand experience with the Toy Story dolls?
#1
my 2.5 yr old loves Toy Story and
she is asking for a Woody or Buzz doll.

In looking at Amazon there are high buck
collector types which have authenticity certificates
and look just like the movie dolls. They come in
cool packaging like the movie and for all intensive
purposes are just like the toys in the movie
These run for about $80 on amazon

There are also lower versions $50 ones
and even lower versions $20
but the reviews on Amazon give some me trepidation
on getting those cheaper alternatives.

If you have kids or are a toy collector, who might have
an opinion on this, I would appreciate your feedback
and experience with whatever $$ version you
may have purchased.

Im interested in knowing quality and playability because
they will be played with by a very loving child, she is not
like Sid from the first movie.. she is like the kid from
TS3 at the end.

thanks!

Does the 2 year old plan on playing with the doll? If yes, get the cheap one.

Collectors quality dolls are made for adults and rarely are even taken out of the package. That would be a huge waste on a 2 yr old.

We have a 12 inch (I guess...maybe 16?) Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie. Woody and Jessie are fine. They have the little pull string to make them talk. Buzz is hard to articulate and has all sorts of buttons that make all sorts of LOUD godawful noises. Did I mention LOUD? My daughter actually does not like to play with him b/c he is so LOUD and it's easy to accidentally tap one of the buttons.

I'm not sure if we bought them or not. I was thinking they might have been Christmas presents. Or birthday. But we may have gotten them on sale at Target or something.

Little Poochie is 8 and he received this Woody toy last Christmas. He wrote his name on the sole just like the kid in the Toy Story films and keeps Woody on a stand on his dresser (the stand came with the toy).

He loves playing with him. The only drawback is that our doll only seems to say two phrases when you pull his string.

There is a way to "unlock" all the sayings. Don't ask me how. But ours was the same way. The wife actually figured it out.

Sounds like a huge waste, period.

Fixed. I think my version is more accurate - his name *is* Woody, after all. Big Grin
