Rumor: Apple TV to cost 2X the average?

Sekker,

Heck no. That’s a reason to _not_ buy one, especially if the TV costs twice as much as its competitor’s equivalent. What do you do when one of these components fails after the warranty expires? What happens when one of the components becomes obsolete? In the case of the DVR, AT3 and cable box, I’d much rather have each a separate component. That way, if the component breaks or if a notcieably better version is released, I can swap it out.

As a long time cool aid drinking Apple fan boy I'll wait for version 2 or 4 to get one with less kinks, more better software features and cheaper.

I would guess LCD. Note, the choice to go with LCD would not alienate half the market. Unfortunately, the market for Plasmas is not 50%. Edit: Probably closer to 10%.
