I too did check it out today while in Target. You know, for clinical curiosity only. Didn't get a rise outta me. Seemed small, flimsy ... inadequate and overhyped.

I agree. This Sunday I bought one at Target for $379. Used my Red card and got 5% discount.
It seems a bit flimsy for my taste. Took some shots around/outside the house and wasn't too impressed with the results. At close to maximum zoom the camera had a heck of a time finding focus. Lot of noise at higher ISO settings.
All in all, it's going back to Target this weekend. I'll stick with my Canon SX230 and T1i.
