What is your favorite browser?

Doug,

So true. The issue with Safari and TD Bank and a few other sites is _very_ annoying. It's even more annoying that other people seem to have no trouble whatsoever with the same sites under Safari. Grrrr!

I've tried to switch back to Safari about 4 times since I began using Chrome about a year and half ago but
I keep coming back the Chrome. I want speed and I get it with Chrome.

I still remember when my thesis advisor in grad school looked up from his Mac and said, "Hey, look at this... You ever heard of this thing called Mosaic?"

September, 1993. I didn't get what the big deal was.

You have to blame your bank for that, not Safari.

Space,

Safari. Clean interface. When I create a new window and type a URL, it completes the URL in the URL field. However, this is the only reason I use Safari over Firefox. Safari has issues with Javascript that are very annoying. For example, the login button on the main screen of TD Bank's web site doesn't work under Safari on my Mac Pro, my office iMac or my MacBook Pro. Works fine with Firefox. If Firefox completed URLs in the URL field rather than me having to arrow down to it, I'd switch to Firefox completely. I know it's a little thing but it's something important to me.

I really hate to say this, but lately several more of my critical websites (particularly those that I do online banking/payments on) have been added to my list of those with unresponsive buttons when I use Safari.

Since I ordinarily use 1Password to auto login, it's very frustrating to be forced to manually open Firefox, enter the address and then finally enter my password manually.

How is the bank or the website to blame? If a Mac application like Firefox can work properly, why can't Apple provide a fix for Safari?

Interesting. I've been experiencing the same thing with Chrome.

Hi everyone,

I feel better knowing the issue with unresponsive buttons isn't just me. It's almost annoying enough for me to switch to Firefox or even give Chrome a try. Not quite there yet, though.

I doubt the issue is the bank because the sites _used_ to work fine with older versions of Safari. The issue didn't appear until after I updated Safari quite some time ago. If it worked with Safari before, it should still work with Safari now. It doesn't.
