How can I record a webinar (one file with screen shots and the audio)?

Hi,

I'd like to be able to record webinars (hopefully starting tonight), ending up with something like a video file that has screen shots of the slides plus the audio. Is this easily and affordably possible? If so how?

I used Audio Hijack to capture the audio and manually grabbed screen shots of the slides but its a pain to manually grab the slides, sometimes they go so quickly I miss one and I'd like to be able to play back one file with the slides and the audio. I'd strongly prefer to record one file rather than combine two files with by editing after recording.

I'm running Leopard 10.5.8 on a Dual Intel Mac Pro.

Are these webinars you are running? I'm guessing probably not, since you say "sometimes they go so quickly I miss one".

The reason I'm asking is because all of the webinars I've taken over the last couple of years have always had the event available for download after the fact. Is that possible in this scenario, can you download the presentation after it's over?

Both Snapz Pro X and SnagIt for Mac have the capability you are looking for.

No. Occasionally they will make the Powerpoint Slides available, without the audio.

I've not used Snagit. But I've used Snapz quite a bit. You just invoke the screenshot command (cmd+shift+3) and you get the snapz window and tell it you want to capture video, select where the video is and hit enter. That's it. It's pretty simple.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I recorded my 1st Webinar with Snapz. It worked well and is easy to use. Easier than the Audio only captures I was doing with Audio Hijack.

Thanks for the suggestion. $20 vs $69 was tempting. I might have used it if I had not already installed and tested (learned how to use) Snapz. I did download it and glance at the manual but when I couldn't easily figure out how to do something that I was doing in Snapz I decided to go with Snapz.

I'll keep that in mind when I upgrade the OS. Does that require the paid version of QT?
