For a guy, this thread approaches the, "When did you last beat your wife?" question, but I believe J Marston's post is accurate. Inflation of statistics about issues like sexual abuse are so common because of the non-objective nature of the questioning and polling.

I am no apologist for rapists. I think a tree stump and a dull hatchet is appropriate when real violent rape is established, but as a society, we have become very loosey-goosey with our definitions.
