deco critter - just run iTunes, go to the iTunes store, and search for "Yellow Pages". It's an iPhone/iPad app.

The publisher is Avantar.

Interesting mix of reviews. Tons of people love it/hate it, with a bunch in the middle. --- although few of the reviews likely are for the new nav capability.

FYI from the EULA -

You agree to allow Yellow Pages to access and use your location, other profile and usage information in order to customize and target content provided in the app, including advertising.

apparently you can only use it to find a business. it is after all the yellow pages. interesting but limited.

I wouldn't trust anything Yellow Pages to be any less insidious than MacKeeper.

I'd also expect a bill at the end of the year for the number of times you've used the app.

Well they do toss them on the curb around here like so much litter.

Your local yellow pages should be fine.
The Yellow Pages yellow pages are the scum of the earth with their predatory practices . If you've never had them splice a recorded conversation to use as proof of a ad purchase consider yourself lucky. They are so good at it they also have scammers following in their footsteps attempting to bleed anyone not wise to their unethical business practices.

If I could charge them for the loss of time this office has suffered due to their ineptitude and sales practices and bill for loss of business for their same ineptitude I could probably come very close to taking a half a year off.

I can think of a few places they can put their free books.

apparently the Yellow Pages is a treacherous path for the business owners but not the consumer. i've known a few people who have placed YP ads and while not the practices you describe it did seem like it was a buyer beware type situation.
