i would never expect a 3 hour lunch at any job, here or abroad - unless my job was rating restaurants and such.

5-6 weeks vacation after committing 8-10 years with one company wouldn't be crazy, though.

The irony is that all this trouble was brought on by that greatest of capitalist American tools...the subprime mortgage. Go ahead and trash talk the Europeans though, since that's your real agenda.

As usual, the OP is pure avenger troll bait. Three hour lunch breaks are Avenger's fantasy invention. In a country with socialized medicine where aren't on the hook for paying medical insurance for vacationing employees there is no barrier whatsoever to 5-6 week vacations. Many people would gladly agree to a reduced salary in exchange for a longer vacation.

As for the linked article, it is a fluff piece and also said nothing about lunch breaks or vacations. The authors can't even get their currency conversions correct. Who edited that POS?

Trying to find where it says about "6 weeks paid summer vacations and 3 hour lunch breaks" so in the end I Googled and found the only reference was your posting here and part of the phrase was mentioned in a joke posting to a BMW chat site five years ago.

I would be interested in finding out about these perks.
