Crucial M4 128 GB SSD, sure speeds things up

I just finished installing Crucial M4 128 GB SSD's in my wife and I's 13-inch Mid 2009 Macbook Pros. One of them has Mountain Lion installed and the other still has Lion installed. Both computers are much faster, absolutely no hesitation as programs open and close. Startup time was 17 seconds on each of them (from chime to asking for my password.) Purchased them from Buy.com three days ago for $79.99 each.

I'm really impressed with how speedy they have made our computers, a very noticeable speed improvement.

Excellent, and great price that you won't regret, even when better deals start appearing. I always scratch my head when someone is considering an SSD for a mac that is not much older than yours, and says something like "maybe it will give me another year of use." I don't think any amount of verbiage on a forum page will convince some folks of how dramatic the difference is.

I installed the 256 GB Crucial SSD on my late 2009 Mac Mini. Worth every penny and I hope to get another 5 years (or more) out of my Mini. The occurrences of spinning beach balls has been greatly reduced.

199 at amazon, 209 at newegg.

I'd recommend setting up an alert at dealmac.com or something to have it alert you when it drops in price, and purchase then.

I paid $180 for my Crucial SSD from Newegg back in June. B&H was selling a Kingston SSD for $160 last month.

I just got one of them the other day for $190 from BuyDig.com. It seems as though these drives are almost always on sale somewhere...just setup an alert and be ready to swipe the plastic when it happens.

I didn't wait for a deal. When I decided to go for it, I just found the cheapest brand name with a decent rating on Amazon and pulled the trigger. +/- $20 for the degree of improvement is insignificant.

Ok, I'm sold... Shopping for a 256 GB SSD for my early 2008 MBP ... I'll double the memory from 4GB to 8GB as well.

Figure there is no way I can replace this laptop for $150-$250 anyhow.
