$200 fine for using ear pieces while riding a bike?!!
#1
It happened to an acquaintance in Sta Monica, CA. Someone else also got in trouble for talking on a cell while biking riding. Since bicycles must follow the same rules as automobiles, then they are subjected to the same penalties. Is it also true with motorcycles?

Yes, same with motorcycles.

what about cars? they were giving away "hand free" kits a few years ago, they were basically an earplug and microphone, although only one earplug, so you still had one ear "unplugged".

I have been told drivers and riders are allowed to have ear pieces on both ears but there must be some space between the device and their ears. Meaning no ear pieces inside the ears.

When earpieces are outlawed only outlaws will have them. They'll have to pry them from my cold, dead ears. Hear what I'm saying?

IIRC, CA law only permits the use of an earpiece in one ear while driving.

You're aware that everything you're asking depends completely on state law? And that it is not universal that "bicyclists have to follow the same rules as automobiles?"
