Is anybody using Comcast with an Arris modem?
#1
If so, is flashing amber for the OnLine LED a normal condition?

For some reason Comcast didn't provide a modem/wireless router combo, so he's using an old Belkin triple a ten a something that may be going T/U.

Or it might be the modem.

I've power cycled everything, no joy, rinsed, lathered, repeated, and applied kinetic adjustment to the router and a minute later, we have ignition.

You need to unplug the internal battery also for a full reboot.

Since the Arris is usually used with Voice and internet, they have a back up battery.

Seems weird, but, it is also best to unplug the Coax Cable when you power down also, since there is some current.

Blessing. Combo units stink.

Still wondering.

I thought that might be the case. Only a few of the lights when out when I unplugged the modem.

ATT provided a huge external battery that weight 5lbs or more (which they left behind when he switched to Comcast). The Arris modem feels much lighter so the battery is may be a different chemistry. It's certainly smaller.
