Apple serial number
#1
I'm looking to buy a 5th gen AirPort Extreme off of craigslist and asked the seller to fw me the s/n. When I tried to check it on the Apple support page, it didn't return any info whatsoever. Does this mean I have an incorrect s/n or that it is out of warranty?

The message I get is: 'We're sorry, but there are currently no solutions available in your location.'

And, the location is set to US: English

Cool clay! This is what that site showed:
1302...
Serial number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (SERIAL WAS ACTUALLY SHOWN HERE -13 DIGIT)
Production year: 2011
Production week: 26 (July)
Group1: Airport
Group2:
Generation:
CPU speed: 800MHz
Factory: C8 (China)

Doesn't show the generation - besides warranty info, was what I wanted to verify. Emailed the seller to verify the model # (A140x = 5th gen; A135x = 4th)

Weird that it didn't show any info at all on Apple site. Put the s/n of my iPhone 4 (out of warranty and never purchased applecare) and it brought it right up.

Not sure if it will help, but MacTracker has a section on Airport Extremes.

Unfortunately there were no 0's in the s/n
Clay's link did show it as an Airport, but didn't show the Gen # (not sure why it's not showing up on Apple's site - must be special :-))
