The only solution to this: more good dogs with guns. And toaster waffles.

The young lady in that second article needs a better boyfriend. He forgot he had ammo stored in the oven, then she takes the bus alone to the ER?

Obviously, we need to conduct background checks on dogs and ovens when they want to carry :jest:

Damn it! My wife told me about this early this morning before leaving for work and I wanted to post it. LOL!
Just wanted to add... I want to know how often this sort of thing (or similar) happens and no one ends up getting hit by the bullet so no one finds out about it.

That story about the dog is a little fishy. I'd like to see the CSI Miami lab try to reproduce that event. The "news" article wording about how the police did not, as yet, arrest the dog is equally fishy. Did somebody at that news source make a mistake and run the April Fools Day story early?

doggie situation- similar cases have been reported for years, usually hunting dogs knock over an improperly placed loaded rifle or shotgun, which discharges.
Ammo storage situation... d'oh !

Anyone have a good resource listing the laws re: concealed carry for dogs by state?

Black-
If you've got a dog that is a citizen, yoiu can apply NRA's information. The citizenship is the first test. Of course there are MANY doggies smarter than many citizens.

There are plenty of concealed carry dogs-- teacup poodles, Chihuahuas, toy fox terriers. I prefer something a little bigger, myself, with a little more punch, like a Sheltie or a corgi.
